Balance of the 2018 Viticultural Campaign
The 2018 wine growing season was atypical and very challenging. It started a month late compared to the previous campaign and was very marked by strong pressure from mildew and some occasional cases of powdery mildew. The intense heat wave in early August caused extensive damage due to the scalding. Grape ripening was slow, which delayed the harvest.
Harvest and Production Declaration
Delivery period runs from 1st October to 15th November 2018!
The harvest and production declaration (DCP) is carried out through:
electronic submission in the Vine and Wine Information System (SIvv), or
in the Regional Wine Commission of the Setúbal Peninsula (CVRPS).

Dear Sirs,
AVIPE comes to convey great concern with the consequences for the vineyards in the Setúbal Peninsula region, resulting from the weather conditions verified in the last few days, with temperatures above 45ºC.
The entire region was heavily affected by the high temperatures, we estimate global losses in the order of 30 to 35%. This situation will have serious consequences for the production of grapes and negative impact on the region's economy.
AVIPE will continue to accompany the winegrowers, promoting the connection with the competent entities and transmitting the constraints that the region is going through.

COTS
Course to Drive and Operate with the Tractor Safely 35 hours
It is not mandatory for a holder of a driving license valid for the respective category of agricultural vehicles to take the COTS, either for driving on public roads, or to prove qualification in the interior of agricultural holdings.
Catalog of selected clones 2018
Portuguese Association for Vine Diversity (PORVID)
PORVID has made available the Catalog of Selected Clones 2018, with detailed information on 150 clones from 24 grape varieties authorized for cultivation and production of wine in Portugal, selected and registered in its name.
For the first time, wine growers can make their choices with information on genetic gains provided by the selected clones and the environmental stability of these gains, supported by detailed technical information on the studies and field trials carried out.
